The 1930 Chrysler Model 70 Roadster was produced following the crash of the stock market as an attempt to create a Chrysler product line, which was the dream of Walter Chrysler. Driving a roadster was as much of a unique experience then as it is today. The creation and design of the Chrysler 1930 Model 70 Roadster came at a time when the need for something upbeat and fun was necessary. The luxurious automobile offered the look and style of a good life, freedom and many options for the consumer.

The first model to roll off the line became the property of a California resident. The luxury automobile had features that made it stand out like a work of art. Features such as narrow-profile radiators, bowl-shaped headlights and pennon hood louvers created an air of creativity and uniqueness to the automobile. The other unique feature to the 1930 Chrysler Model 70 was the parking lamps and their being mounted on the windshield posts.

Though the 70 series of Chryslers all had similar options and features, the 1930 Chrysler Model 70 Roadster was a definite step up from the others. This particular model came at a time when consumers needed a little bit more. Options, design and features were kicked up a notch well above the other 70 series Chrysler vehicles. Some of the features included door-storage pouches, leather interior, folding luggage racks, fog lights, dual side-mounted spare tires, spoke wheels, front and rear bumpers, pedestal side-mounted mirrors and more.

The specifications on the stylish and classic 1930 Chrysler Model 70 Roadster included a four-speed manual transmission, Delco Remy ignition, paraflex springs, mechanical fuel pump, hydraulic brakes and the L-head six-cylinder engine.

Chrysler is known for being a leader in the industry and they remain a competitor in today’s industry. One of the things that set Chrysler apart from others is their famous insignia of the Mercury wings on the ornamental radiator caps of Chrysler automobiles. Whether symbolic or not, the 1930 Chrysler Model 70 Roadster most definitely was pivotal as a symbol of freedom, class and style.
