Iola is a small Wisconsin town that becomes a thriving metropolis at least once a year, for the Iola Old Car Show and Swap Meet. A dusty farm field transforms into the largest swap meet in the Midwest. Held each year over the second weekend of each July, 2008 will see the 36th show.

This four-day event brings auto enthusiasts from around the nation to view antique collectible cars, but also to shop. The swap meet boasts over 4,400 booths containing everything you didn’t know you needed.

You’ll be in car paraphernalia paradise. Looking for wheels, frames, engines, and trim pieces? You’ll have plenty to choose from. Decorate your shop or garage with old oilcans, gas pumps, and globes from every major petroleum company. Cover the walls with dealer signs or banners. Complete your car with hubcaps or body parts. Catch up on your reading with books and repair manuals.

The 2008 theme for the Iola Old Car Show and Swap Meet is “Roadsters, RagTops, and Rumble Seats”. July 10-13th gearheads will be hoping for sunshine so the tops can stay down. Look forward to seeing plenty of roadsters, convertibles, and open sports cars.

Iola has showcased classic American muscle, some of the first cars ever made, one of a kind concept vehicles, rare limited production cars, antique emergency vehicles, and anything else you can imagine.

The Show Cars will include about 2,500 vehicles from the early 1900s to the year 1979. If you are looking to bring home that sweet ride of your dreams be sure to visit the Car Corral. The Car Corral will contain over 1,000 cars with a manufacture date prior to 1995, and thier all for sale. You will also find displays and exhibits by private collectors, museums, and manufacturers. International Classic Auctions also hosts a classic car auction.

Car shows and swap meets are not only a place to view and talk about your favorite automobiles, thier also a fantastic opportunity to gain an education, and the Iola Show is no different. Whether you are in the market for a classic car,  or are just looking to tinker on your collector car and  take time to talk to those in the know, this is your place.  Troubleshoot something you just can’t figure out. Share your car stories with eager and abundant audiences, or just enjoy Wisconsin’s finest beer-battered deep-fried cheese curds. Whatever your looking to do, the Iola Show has it all.
